6 months without red meat

I just realized today that it  has been about 6 months since  I have touched red meat of any kind. Basically this means I haven’t had a burger in like forever!! Which is pretty crazy to me… I can’t believe that it’s been 7 months since my “lifestyle change”. Many of you who have been reading my blog since Decemeber know that these past 7 months have been a huge journey for me, losing close to 25 lbs and toning up both physically and mentally… I can honestly say that blog is what spurred me into action but my family friends and love for myself and my body has helped me continue my journey (as well as all the motivation from my fellow bloggers!)

Instead of eating red meat I’ve been fueling up on black bean burgers and whole grain “burgers” from whole foods:

I woke up this morning with a great feeling about today, not sure why but I think its because I’ve started to plan a few things I am really looking forward to in the near future are…

    • signing up for the Bastille Day 5K & 8K Run, Walk & Block Party on: Date: Thursday July 14th 2011 I’m running this with my main man and hopefully my girlfriend tracy! :)

    • hanging out with a new friend I’ve made tomorrow after summer school, Were probably going to be heading over to the soupbox for lunch, an amazing little place right by downtown campus of Loyola! Loyola’s downtown campus opened up a chik-fil-a too! I cannot wait to try it either. I have never had it before but I’ve read up on the nutrition and this place really isn’t too bad for a fast food joint! I also get the chicken and wild rice soup, it is to die for!
    • planning something tonight for the fourth of July, I’m going to hopefully making these concrete plans tonight because I also felt like in the past the fourth of July is a little hectic. I never know what I’m doing until the day of and being a Libra, that uncertainty doesn’t sit too well with me. I’ve always had an issue with the fourth of July in the past because I always felt like never turned out the way I had hoped. This year I’m determined to make this fourth of July weekend one filled with festivals and fun! I’m thinking about going to the fest in Wrigleyville this coming weekend called…

Wrigleyville Block Party Located on the West Side of Wrigley Field – Clark Street, between Addison and Waveland – Chicago

The Chicago Cubs host a street fest for three summer baseball series weekends, including the Crosstown Classic, featuring live music, video games,… Starting Daily 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (July 1 through July 3) Chicago White Sox series. I think this would be a blast this coming weekend with some friends!
  •  scheduling a haircut and color,
What are some things you are looking forward to in July? I’ll be heading out to dinner tomorrow night at one of my favorite restaurants… I’ll surprise you all with a review of what I order :)
My workout today kicked my butt! I ran a 5k then did 3 miles on stair master followed by a slow 1.5 mile walk while flipping through magazines and chatting with my girlfriends Elena and Dana. (total of 7.5 miles about today! I’m so ready for bed!)
What are your favorite workouts these days? I’m starting to become addicted to these “bootay” sculpting videos that I get for free on Comcast… I’ve been doing that  pretty often instead of my usual treadmill workouts… I must say I’m loving the results!

Last day of Summer school for me is on Thursday… then I’m FREE for summer! :)

Hope your Tuesday is fabulous G-night!
MUCH Love- Ang
