Now I have a small question for everyone:

What are your opinions about the Garmin Watch? I am going to be ordering one for myself tonight since I want to have one while on my vacation in Arizona next week. Let me know what you think of this brand or if there is another brand just as good that’s cheaper.

Did anyone see the biggest loser last night? I can’t believe that Jeniffer decided to NOT buy her trainer (if you saw the episode you’d know what I mean!)…

What are your thoughts on personal trainers? Ever tried one out? I’d love to train with someone two or three times a week (preferably an attractive older man lol)… Maybe that’s what I’ll ask for come my birthday.

Clinicals are half way over already… 3 weeks down 3 to go. I absolutely adore the kids at this school and dont want to leave. My teacher has asked me to stay with and help even after clinicals are over! :) I’m pretty excited about this. I know that it’s going to be an amazing feeling to see all these kids progress even more come June!

Here are some of my good eats from the week:

Sliced up Vitatop

lots and lots of fruit

Kashi Bars :) Dark Mocha Almond Kashi Bars takes the cake.

Used for my Peanut butter/ Almond Butter Sandwiches!

What’s your new Favorite Treat?

I currently have two new favorite treats:

I’m kind of proud of the photography of the picture above :)

Can you believe this ENTIRE pint of Ice cream is 150 calories?! Neither could I! They have about 5 other flavors I need to try now :)

These last couple days have been hectic! I’ve taught my first lesson to a second grade class today and my first lesson to a fifth grade class yesterday. I absolutely loved it! It’s so nice  to honestly say that I know teaching is the profession for me :)

I’ve also been filling up on Peanut butter and Apple sandwiches for lunch while at the schools, its a really filling snack to have during the day. I was able to complete one of the best 4 mile runs I ever have before

4 miles in 35 minutes flat! :)

I can’t wait to run this outside instead of on the treadmill, I’m really starting to feel like a hamster… While at the gym today the grossest thing happened to me… I  hopped on the treadmill to begin my 4 miler and a middle aged man came and set up camp on the treadmill next to me. The rest of the treadmills around me were available but this guy decided to smother me (or so it felt that way.)  I didn’t mind at first but then noticed a horrific smell when ever I turned to my right….he smelled absolutely horribleSeriously do people not realize when they smell like that? LOL anyways, I literally have to thank the smelly man to my right for my PR (personal Running record for 4 miles) because I wanted to get off that treadmill as quick as possible but didn’t want to stop mid-run!

What’s your crazy gym story?

What are some of your new favorite treats?

Sorry for the lack of posting, teaching has been hectic! But I promise to pick up the pace come April :)

Time to get my TAN on!

Exhaustion has struck, being with kids all day long is not an easy job, God Bless teachers… Being with kids all day long is something I really enjoy but I know  I needed a night out.  I think I owe a night out with my friends after  racking up 19 miles in the last 4 days :) go me!

I  really feel exactly like this student after dealing with the 5th graders all day. The combo of being hungover today and exhausted from this week at the elementary schools has really worn me down, I’m in need of a vacation

I think I stayed out a little to late for my 8:00 am class this morning, can’t wait to curl up in my bed tonight!

Kristen and I :)

my friend George and I

It was pretty difficult to get up today after the long night out but I managed to get to class right on time!

I know I haven’t had a chance to upload many pictures lately so here we go:

I spent my St. Patty’s day with my best friend in the world, Sophia. Sophia has decided to take a step further into the blog world by switching to self-hosting and getting her own domain! Congrats Sophia!

<3

Here’s a pretty long list of some of the things I’ve been snacking on/addicted to this month:

Julie from PB Fingers had inspired me to start eating bagel thins with Munster cheese for lunch, I swear its addicting!

Munster Cheese sandwhich with Skinny Popcorn

My new favorite snack!

Waffles, Berries and Yogurt/shake mess

Cranberry Tuna Salad from WF

Whole Food's "cabbage crunch" Delicious!

Great cereal!

Homemade Pizzas!

Pizzerts are wonderful for breakfast :)

Pizzert (pizza desert!)

I've been switching up my Greek Yogurt obsession to Iclandic Yogurt, a great change of pace, The consistency is a little bit less watery than Greek Style

Last week I finally went to one of my favorite restaurants that I don’t go to often enough… Flat top!

crazy mess of food <3

After dinner I headed over to Red Mango…. FINALLY! I’ve been wanting to visit this place forever and finally got a chance to go!

Plain Yogurt with berries and hunny :)

I decided to go back for a second cup of fro-yo (dark chocolate and oreos)

I totally forgot to mention that I ran into a Justin Bieber look alike recently while at the Ahepa Marrow Tournament, Check it out… Such a CUTIE!

I’ve also gotten a chance to hang out with my little cousins, I love these girls!

Now for the big big BIG news… I will be heading to Arizona in less than 2 weeks! We’ve booked our vacation at this resort I’m in need of a tan (check out how pale I am above) If many of you missed my bathing suit post I’ve decided to keep this one for Arizona:

I need my tan back….

Where’s your favorite vacation spot to get your tan on?

What are some of your favorite snacks right now? The skinny popcorn is something I’d recommend for everyone to pair with their sandwiches at lunch!

Every try the Whole Food cabbage crunch, orzo with feta or cranberry tuna? What’s your favorite Whole Food’s Food? PLEASE let me know something new I should try from Whole Foods!

Ever been to Flat Top restaurant or Red Mango? What do you think of self serving buffet style restaurants? Is it hard for you to control portion size? I cannot control portion size during 2 circumstances…

  1. When a box of cereal is in front of me
  2. When I go to buffet style events/restaurants

Time to pay attention in class, now that it’s half-way over…

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

Recap Weekend…Detroit

This past weekend basketball took over life once again… I went out of town for a basketball tournament that my brother played in. They ended up losing in the championship to a decent team. The team wasn’t impressive as a whole, the reason they beat my brother’s team was because of the one stand-out player on the other team… Oh well, there’s always next year!

My bro and I :)

I decided to run on saturday morning while on my mini “vacation” in Detroit, Michigan for the tournament, the run was about a mile and half I estimated. After being away from the gym for three days I got a great run in today without even expecting it. My legs felt great from the rest I gave them this weekend and I knocked out 6.25 miles today! while running I got into what I’d like to call a “zen zone”. I kind of let my mind wander and forgot I was running the last 2 miles. I started to think about the importance of stability I have in my life. I’m a constant worrier, every new or complex or emotionally high-charged situation I come across is solved only after I feel like iIhave had a balanced view of the situation and taken into consideration of all the options. I also lack the ability to make a decision and STICK with it. I am a very wishy-washy person and I think this stems from not knowing what it is I want in my life at this particular moment. Sometimes I feel as if I know exactly what I want in my life and then other times I know what I do want and what I “should” want don’t align.

Half of my problem is allowing other people’s opinions of me to affect my decisions but the other half of my problem is my inability to be consistent in knowing what it is I truly want. I don’t know if everyone knows exactly what they want in their life, but for me, I simply want to enjoy life, but what exactly does that even mean? I’m not sure yet but I’m going to work hard to find out by taking my time to find out what/who brings out the best in me. I think once I find that out I’ll figure out what it means to enjoy life. I also need to remember to wake up and view the day as a blessing. Each day is an opportunity to succeed more than  I did the day before.

Something else I began to think about while running is happiness

Much of our unhappiness comes from the desire to be happy at the expense of others. It’s really very ironic that in grasping after happiness in this way we end up causing ourselves pain. It’s like sticking your hand into what you think is a cool stream in order to find relief on a hot day, only to discover that the water is boiling.

Happiness comes from empathizing with others and from seeing their wellbeing and their suffering as being as important as our own. It’s not that we set aside our own needs entirely and become martyrs in the popular sense of the word, but that we recognize that one of our needs is to help others meet their own needs. In meeting our need to help others meet their needs we find that we become happier: a layer of self-induced suffering starts to dissolve. We could say, that developing a sense of connectedness with others and overcoming selfishness is the essence of the spiritual path. Keeping this in mind I’m going to be keeping this in mind tomorrow while working with the students at school and while back at home with my family.

New Goal: Do something new each day, whether it be having lunch with a new friend  or trying out a new hobby, the only way to find out what makes me happy is to try different things and interact with differnent people.

New Goal: Letting those around me (students, teachers, family) know that their happiness is important to me  as my own by trying hard to help them succeed. I would really like to emphasize to my students at the school that their happiness and comprehension of subjects (academic and social growth) is as important to me as my own happiness and growth as a person.

Overall, I know it is necessary that I am open to changes and interacting with new people because sometimes that’s the only way to grow as a person and move on to a new (and more mature) chapter of life. Hopefully I’ll start a  life that I enjoy more than ever before.

This week is going to be a lot of fun,  I’m heading to Flat Top restaurant tomorrown and I’ll be fulfilling my goal by doing a new workout I’ve never done before heading out to this restaurant!

Questions:

Any ideas for a new workout I can do tomorrow?  I have comcast so any suggestions from their or internet video workouts would be greatly appreciated :)

What brings you happiness?

Smoothies all week!

Yesterday was my first day of observation and clinicals and Walker Elementary School in Evanston. I had such a a wonderful experience and love all the kids already! My teacher is also super helpful and supportive I think this is going to be an amazing six weeks…

Breakfast on Sunday before my 4 mile run  and basketball game  of the Ahepa Tournament was 0%  Fage Greek Yogurt and lots of Pumpkin Flax Granola:

Sunday afternoon after my run and but before the championship basketball game I decided to make some whole wheat spaghetti..My legs were feeling pretty good at the basketball game even after the 4 miler… I’ll bet it was because of this delicious post workout meal:

Whole Wheat Pasta with Organic Pesto, Veggies and Organic Parm Cheese,

I decided to go old school and whip up a blueberry monster before my first day of clinicals yesterday

My experience at Walker Elementary has already been a ton of fun!

The students each have a classroom “job” that they are asked to do for the teacher. I feel like this is a wonderful idea because it emphasizes that each student is a necessity to the class. I’m a huge supporter of classroom jobs because I believe the only way to get students to actively enjoy class is if they feel like they are a necessary piece of the classroom “puzzle”. Having a classroom job makes them feel important and apart of the classroom  “family”. My cooperating teacher has over 20 jobs to choose from in the class which allows each student to have a task that is unique and important.

I also really enjoyed the classroom rules that I found my teacher has posted on her wall:

The students created the “golden rule” themselves and each signed the poster in compliance with the rules. This is something I would use in my own classroom for sure, especially since it was created by the students themselves.

I had a delicious Green Monster today before clinicals.

I decided to go with my traditional Green Monster that I haven’t had in while, oh how I’ve missed this one…

  • One container of Fage yogurt
  • blueberries (handful)
  • 2 large handfuls of spinach
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1/2 scoop of EAS protein powder
  • and 1/2 cup of water

I used the container I saved from Lifetime fitness the day before. It made the smoothie taste like a treat I had bought rather than one I had made, I love tricking myself :)

During my lunch break at Walker today I ate the sandwich I picked up from Whole Foods earlier that morning, Tuna on wheat bread, with tomato and lettuce (delicious!)

I also had an amazing Tempeh Meal last night before bed. I’ve only had tempeh once before but the taste is truly growing on me :)

Ezekiel Bread, Tomato and Tempeh Sandwich

Sorry that half the bread was eaten in the picture above. I couldn’t find my camera and was so hungry.

I also made myself a pretty interesting lunch, I have never had Indian food before but decided to try an Indian Chickpea Soup that I bought from my local fruit market:

only 300 cals in the whole pack!

To be honest the soup was a little too spicy for me. I could still feel the heat in my mouth and nose hours later while running my 7 miler at the gym. Needless to say it was kind of an uncomfortable feeling while running, but my legs felt GREAT.

I’ve read that spicy foods help speed up metabolism though. Anyone else hear about this?

Lately I’ve been feeling like I need some new motivation to keep my running and working out in the same way I have been the last couple months. I ran a 7 miler yesterday and I felt great but I need need need to start changing it up and doing some new things in the gym…

What are somethings that keep you in “work out mode”?

I’ve decided to go back to my regular Monday-Friday smoothie breakfasts. I’ve been a little off rack with a consistent time for breakfast due to spring break last week and need to get back on track!…. What are some smoothie recipes that will fill me up for hours?

The Ahepa Marrow Basketball Tournament Recap

The Ahepa Marrow Basketball Tournament was a success this year! Everything ran smoothly and from what I understand every single game was even played right on time! The volunteers worked so hard this year to make this the best year yet and it definitely showed. I think that we made more money for our non-profit organization this year than the year prior and I’m almost positive that we even tested 20-30 people in order to see if they may be a potential match for a cancer patients. I’m hoping that number is closer to 30 but I’ll have tally up the numbers sometime this week to make sure. Our woman’s team ended up winning the tournament! The talent we have put together for our Ahepa Marrow Woman’s team was a dominating force this year as it was the last couple years.

I'm the fourth on the right!

This is our third year winning the championship and we handled the other team’s offense very easily, making the final score a blow out by  25 or so. Luckily, we have a great group of girls that play college basketball and some that have even played “overseas” basketball in Puerto Rico. My dad is very proud to coach such an amazing group of women…

Baba (dad in Greek) and I

One of the women on our team even holds two state records: most steals in a game and most assists in a game. It’s always fun to play with women who understand the game of basketball and have some real  knowledge of the game. I feel like I still learn more about how to become a better player whenever I play with this group of women.

I feel like playing with this team has made me miss basketball even more than ever before, I will definetly be encorperating some basketball into my schedule weekly, especially now that my basketball confidence has risen from my preformance at the tournament.

me! :)

Well, most of my week consisted of some amazing smoothies:

Cake Batter Smoothie:

  • One container Greek Yogurt
  • One large banana (organic)
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • Xanthum Gum (for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons of your favorite ice cream

Topped with Sprinkles and Granola:

Be back later, Hope your Monday goes well!

It’s my first day of observation and clinicals at Walker Elementary school, I’m so nervous and excited! :) wish me luck!

Moist Chocolate Maple Cake

I decided to do some more baking this week… thank GOD for Spring Break!

Chocolate Maple Cake:

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons whole-wheat pastry flour, (see Ingredient Note)
  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk, (see Tip… I used 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup skim milk)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup hot strong black coffee
  • Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray. Line the pan with a circle of wax paper.
  2. Whisk flour, granulated sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Add buttermilk, brown sugar, egg, oil and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add hot coffee and beat to blend. (The batter will be quite thin.) Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the cake until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from the pan, peel off the wax paper and let cool completely. Dust the top with confectioners’ sugar before slicing.

Tips & Notes

  • Ingredient Note: Whole-wheat pastry flour, lower in protein than regular whole-wheat flour, has less gluten-forming potential, making it a better choice for tender baked goods. You can find it in the natural-foods section of large super markets and natural-foods stores. Store in the freezer.
  • Tip: No buttermilk? You can use buttermilk powder prepared according to package directions. Or make “sour milk”: mix 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup milk.

Tip of the day:

Don’t Cherish Destructive thoughts!

Often we don’t realize how much we subconsciously cherish negative thoughts. It may seem counter intuitive, but often a negative frame of mind occurs because we won’t let go of the negative thoughts and ideas. Sometimes the mind clings on to these thoughts with a feeling of self pity or injured pride. We don’t like the negative frame of mind, but at the same time are we consciously trying to overcome it? The problem is that if the negative thoughts go round and round in our mind they can become powerful and we lose a sense of perspective. Just make a conscious decision to ignore the negative flow of thoughts and sentiments and be persistent in these attempts.

Yesterday we ended up winning our first game for the tournament. It was so nice to see all of the ladies from the team again! I love Greek tournament time! I’ve been having some problems with wordpress lately so I’ll be back with a longer post once my pictures upload, grrrr the internet can annoy me!

Subway’s BEST/NEW sandwich and an Apple Pecan Loaf Recipe!

After my 7 mile run yesterday I decided to head over to subway and order my favorite sandwich:

Subway Falafel Sandwich (3 falafel patties, tomato, spinach and cucumber with Cucumber Sauce on the side)

Click here and here to learn more  about their new sandwich. We’ve had the subway falafel in Chicago for a while now and I’m pretty happy about it :)

I paired the sandwich with some garbanzo bean soup and lima beans

This morning I woke up and was craving Van’s Waffles

One Van's Waffle, 1 Container Fage 0% plain Yogurt and a ton of blueberries... topped with Maple Syrup

Now this should be used for the FAGE commericial's don't you think?

The blueberries look really delicious because I warmed them up in the microwave for about 30 seconds which really got them to look gooey and delicious!

I topped everything off with some Cinnamon Raisin Swirl

Ahhhhhh the perfect bite!

I also bought some cinnamon swirl bread that I found on sale yesterday, It made a great pre-run snack:

Since I’m on Spring Break and have the time for baking, I made up a new recipe!

Banana/Apple Pecan Bread
Created by Angie :)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 apple, grated
  • 1/3 cup light olive oil (or any oil you prefer)- I used Olivado Omega Plus I RECOMMEND this!
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Rice Syrup (maple or honey may work too)
  • 1/3 cup Organic Cane Sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. Organic vanilla extract
  • 1 Tsp. Kahlua
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour (I used King Arthur’s)
  • 1 Tbsp. ground flax (I didn’t have already ground flax so I had to grind up the flax seed in my food process for this step and then measured out 1 Tbsp of ground flax)
  • 5 large D’noir prunes –or any dried fruit of your choice, the amount can vary depending on how much dried fruit you want in your bread or you can omit this all together. I put the 5 large prunes into the food processor and ground them up into smaller pieces so that they were evenly distributed in the bread.
  • chopped pecans ( I used about 1/4 cup  Sahale Snacks Nut blend Valdosta Pecans)

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • With a fork, mix oil into the banana and grated apple in a large bowl. Add Cane sugar, egg, vanilla, Kahlua, baking soda and salt
  • Then add the spices, and thoroughly combine.
  • Then add the flour and stir to combine. Sprinkle flax over batter and mix in.
  • Finally, add the dried fruit of your choice ( I used the prunes) and 1/4 cup of the pecans, mixing just until incorporated.
  • Pour mixture into an (Canola) oiled and loaf pan.
  • Sprinkle remaining pecans and a little powdered sugar over the top.
  • Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Allow to cool on a wire rack before removing from the pan.
  • Slice and devour.

Mix it all together....

Into the oven!

My home was smelling like a bakery all morning which I loved. I decided to bust out to some Britney Spears while baking this morning her new song is amazing!

Now I’m going to be heading over to the gym with a couple of friends for a quick strength session and then need to work on organizing some of the Ahepa Marrow Basketball Tournament team registration paperwork.

What’s your favorite Subway Sandwich?

What’s your favorite bread loaf recipe? I hope you all decide to make the Apple Pecan Loaf, you WON’T be sorry!

Are you a Van’s Waffle fan? What do you top your Waffles with? Fage yogurt like me? I love using yogurt in pancake recipes too! Fage yogurt kind of rocks!

P.S. Michelle is having a giveaway and it’s AWESOME!!!

March Madness is Here!

Basketball has basically been my life this past weekend and it’s only going to get more intense this coming weekend. “Greek March Madness” is definitely here, all of the Greek basketball tournaments begin in March and that means I’ll be spending a majority of my time playing, watching, living and breathing basketball. I’m kind of excited!

The Ahepa Marrow Basketball Tournament is being held this weekend and I can’t wait to see the turn out we get of potential matches coming to get tested at our drives. Read more about our tournament on a previous post of mine by clicking here.

The weekend of St.Patrick’s Day I will be going with Pete on a road trip to Michigan for another Greek/ Pan Orthodox tournament. Last year we went to the same tournament together it was a week after our first date and I’m kind of excited to rekindle those memories. ;)

Yesterday, I got a chance to watch Pete play in the championship game of a Greek tournament we have in Chicago. He played really well even though he never admits to having a good game. He’s always really hard on himself when it comes to his basketball performances and I wish he would just realize and swallow the fact that he’s really talented. Needless to say, I was really proud of him. They ended up winning the championship game and beating my dad’s team (which was pretty awkward since I wasn’t sure who to cheer for LOL!)

Afterward, we decided to lay low key and watch a couple of movies, Couple’s Retreat and Rudy!

Tracy and James, two of my very good friends from high school came by and joined us for our movie night. It was a relaxing Sunday evening…

Earlier this week I ended up heading to Uncommon Ground with a couple of buddies. This is one of the healthiest restaurants that I go to in the chicagoland area. I recommend the sweet potato fries and the Sunshine Salad but I decide to go with the Vegan Lentil Burger this time:

My friend decided to order the buttermilk pancakes and chorizo

To be honest, I wish I had ordered the Pancakes over my Vegan Burger but the Sweet Potato Fries I ordered really hit the spot!

Workout:

Today I decided to get a long run in since I took a day off yesterday. I ran 7 miles in 68 mins! A NEW personal record! I also ended up doing 2 more miles on the bike at a slow pace to cool down. Tonight I plan on getting a strength session in while watching the Bachelor, such an addicting show lol.I made myself a wonderfully tasty Strawberry Bannana Smoothie after my workout today:

I’d like for each of you to take the time and check out the Ahepa Marrow Basketball Tournament website because our tournament will be held this Wednesday (March 9th) to this Sunday (March 13th). I hope that each of you make the choice to become a part of the Registry! Feel free to contact me at avenetos@luc.edu if you want to see how you can help save a life!

Questions:

What’s your favorite healthy restaurant called? I’d like to check out some of these healthy restaurants on the web so let me know what your favorite is!

Are you a sweet potato fan?

Are you going to take the time and become a member of the Ahepa Marrow Donor Registry? If you do you could potentially save someone’s life! It would be an awesome idea to become a member as a way of fulfilling one of your goals for March! :)

FYI Carrie is having an AWESOME giveaway! She also just reviewed some pretty awesome products! I can’t wait to receive some goodies she sent me in the mail! She is such an awesome/gorgeous gal!

96 TOTAL miles of running/walking in February!

I’m very proud to say that I racked up 96 miles in 28 days= 3.5 miles per day in February!

March Goals- These are just some brief idea of some goals I have for the next couple of months. I will be focusing in on two or three of the following after getting all of the goals down on paper. I suggest this method for most people writing “goal lists”

  • 3.5- 4 miles per day run/walk
  • Not taking things personal from people that care about me
  • Make sure that I’m making myself happy and choices that will benefit me. (I too often focus on other people’s happiness before my own
  • Helping out with a new organization other than Ahepa Marrow
  • Take a new class at the gym
  • Increase arm toning (15 mins every day at least) (push-ups, dips, etc)
  • Designate one day for Yoga 30 mins
  • Help make Ahepa Marrow well-known in Chicago
  • Gain some muscle weight 115 is to small for my frame (5’5) I weighed myself today and was kind of appalled at the weight loss. I need to tone!!!
  • Fast for Easter! :) ** I love this goal! I’ve already cut out all meat and am thinking about going all out for lent (dairy, meat, the whole deal!)
  • Start to go out with guy/girl friends more… Ever since I started the working out/healthy eating kick I was reluctant to go out because I didn’t want people asking me why I was not drinking. I’ve learned to just be upfront about my dedication to being active and health conscious lately and so I think It will be easier to go out without people being so judgmental about my choices. I’ve seen the results I’ve wanted to achieve in regards to my body and so I’m not going to allow people to pressure me into believing I need to get belligerently drunk like them in order to have a good time. Plus, I’ve learned that I can go out and have drinks with friends and just let loose but I need to pick and choose those days wisely and not make it an every night occurrence.
  • Start realizing what really makes me happy by making a note of when I feel this way. I think that making an effort to be  consciously aware of when your truly smiling from ear to ear is the only way you can learn what really makes you tick. I carry around a little notebook with me in my purse and I think it would be a great idea to jot down who/when/why/what is making me happy at that particular moment.I’d like to surround myself with things/people and places that really make me happy and I believe that the only way to do that is to consciously note those instances.

That seems like a decent list for now. I worked out this morning with one of my very best friends Tracy!!

I ran 3.2 miles with her and then we both did some cardio on the bike and chatted, we were long overdue for a “catch up on life” session!

Some days I prefer doing my workouts alone but when I’m with Tracy I literally get great workouts in, we are such good workout buddies!

Do you enjoy working out alone? or with a friend?

Do enjoy working out at home? outside? or at your local gym? I need some ideas of where to start working out to spice it up a bit!
